Our Cookie Policy

DatingEbooks.co.uk is a website based in the United Kingdom and we provide our cookie policy within the confines of UK law, which requires us to provide you with certain information regarding cookie files. This cookie policy lets you know what cookies are, what types of cookies are placed on your computer or other device when you visit our site and what they are used for.

What is a Cookie?

Very briefly, an internet cookie, also referred to as a browser cookie or HTTP cookie, is a small file which is stored on your computer when you access certain pages on the internet. Cookies store information about your browsing habits and provide this information to the depositing website to allow it to provide customised content, or anything else that can be accomplished by storing text data on that user’s computer. For example, shopping websites such as Amazon or Argos use cookies to recognise your devices and preferences in order to display the contents of your ‘shopping basket’ from a previous visit to that website. Cookies do not require personal information for these purposes and (in most cases) do not personally identify internet users.

There are a many different types of cookies: Normally, just two types are referred to; Session (temporary cookies) and Persistent (set timescale cookies), but in practice, there are eight different types, or more accurately; eight different purposes that cookies perform.

You have full control over all cookies on your computer and these can be managed under the Cookie management area, usually accessed via your browser. If you use more than one browser, you will need to manage cookies in each browser.

What cookies does DatingEbooks.co.uk use?

At DatingEbooks.co.uk we do not use any cookies for daily site usage, however, on occasion, we might implement analytics cookies.  These will originate from Google. We do this to keep a track of the number of visitors to our site and what pages are viewed. We do this so we can improve the site in the best way possible. For example, if a certain page has only ever received a couple of visitors, we will either alter it to make it more interesting or just delete it. When cookies are being used, you will see the compulsory cookie info on this page and you will have the option of refusing them. This is not an option at the minute because no cookies are currently being used.
